I suddenly thought of a great new name for a really heavy and somewhat ironic progressive metal band: 'Bangers and Mosh. I just filed my taxes on Monday, and we owe a significant amount of state income tax this year. Why do I always come up with these ideas when I owe money? Is this a clue from my subconscious that I should be selling these names for money?
Anyway, Mrs. Geek and I made our first foray into the wonderful world of gardening over the weekend. As Spring continues to turn into Sprung, Mrs. Geek and I cleaned up some flower beds in front of our house by removing weeds and old mulch, and laying down new mulch. We're still kind of clueless about some of what we have growing in our flower beds, but we have at least made sure that what we have looks tended. We also started to put together a small herb garden (basil, oregano, sage, rosemary, and thyme). Let us hope that my thumbs are green, not brown or black.
It's been a LONG time since I've done anything resembling garden work, and whoa nelly, it can be hard on the lower back. Whether it was lifting bags of mulch or "Turf Builder", or bending over to pull weeds, I could barely find a comfortable position to sit down after supper on Sunday night. My hernia wasn't too happy about the state of affairs either. I'm feeling better now though.
Oh yes, the feedback from my phone screen last Thursday was positive, and in person interviews are being scheduled. Those won't happen for a few weeks, given that I am having surgery next week and need to recover.
