Mrs. Geek and I passed an interesting anniversary yesterday: it is now one year since we truly became home owners by moving into our home. It's been a year of many ups and downs. I think it's been a good year on the whole, and that we purchased a good, solid house (*knock on wood*) that will do well by us as long as we do well by it.
My memories of a year ago are jumbled. I just remember boxes, boxes, and more boxes... and that washer/dryer set that we first were selling, then might not be selling, and then really were selling to the woman taking over our apartment. I felt a bit like a marathon runner who was getting ready to make the last leg of a race by the time that October 10 came around.
I've been looking back at my diary entries of the period, and one word comes to mind: relaxation. For all the worries that I have now, I'm grateful that I can just stretch out on the sofa on a Saturday afternoon, and do nothing. I most certainly did not have the liberty to do that a year ago.
